The committee of dioceses that plan the Gulf Coast Faith Formation Conference chose “GO! Build A Future of Hope” as the theme for its 2018 conference in October of 2016. The following month, Pope Francis began a weekly catechetical series on Christian hope that he has delivered at most of his Wednesday general audiences this liturgical year.
Below is a listing of his weekly addresses. As you prepare to come to the Gulf Coast Faith Formation Conference, or if you are returning to this site after you have attended GO!, may this collection of “hope from the Pope” inspire you to be a part of the hope-building process in your local parish, school, or diocesan community.
THIS WEEK’S TOPIC
Hope’s Fulfillment in Heaven [October 25, 2017]
“Jesus died on the cross to redeem our sins, our mistakes and our failings, and to bring us with him to the house of the Father. He desires that nothing be lost of what he has redeemed. No one, then, should despair, for his grace is always present to those who put their trust in him. The hour of our death need hold no fear for us if, like the Good Thief, we can turn to the Lord and pray in confident hope: “Jesus, remember me” (cf. Lk 23:42).”
NOTE: This week’s address is the final installment of the catechesis on Christian hope given at Pope Francis’ weekly audiences. Stay tuned, however, in the coming weeks for more #HopeFromThePope!
