Children of the Light: The Pre-Catechumenate Period with Children

We, the Church, are to welcome and invite those children who have not yet been baptized, have come to an age of understanding, and are of catechetical age to be a part of the process of faith formation. This session for RCIA ministers, directors of faith formation, and catechists will introduce you a method of creative new ways to draw on your own faith experiences as you prepare children to receive the sacraments of initiation through the RCIA as adapted for children.

Blessie La Scola entered into the full communion of the Roman Catholic Church in 1976. Since 1978 she has been active in the areas of catechesis, sacramental preparation, and faith formation through the process of Christian initiation in the Diocese of San Jose.  For over 25 years she has served adults, youth, and children in the RCIA, as well as serving on the Catechumenate Committee for the diocese and has mentored lay leaders in implementing or developing the RCIA process in their parish.
