Forming Families of Faith and Hope: Catholic Social Teaching and the Domestic Church

January 13, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Forming Families of Faith and Hope: Catholic Social Teaching and the Domestic Church

Saint John Paul II wrote that it was within “the family” that people receive their “first formative ideas about truth and goodness and [learn] what it means to love and to be loved, and thus what it actually means to be a person.”   It is within the family that Catholics learn to bring hope to a hurting world. This workshop will explore the critical role Catholic social teaching can play in strengthening the domestic church.

Dr. Kristin Witte has taught in a Catholic elementary school, worked as a college campus minister, parish youth minister, and for the Archdiocese of Baltimore as the coordinator of pastoral care and social justice. Having earned three master’s degrees, Kristin completed her Doctorate in Ministry with an emphasis in Pastoral Counseling from the Catholic University of America. Kristin currently serves as the coordinator of Catechetical and Catholic Educational Engagement at CRS.
