Missionary Catechists: Sharing Hopeful Gifts for Ministry

Catechists might not consider their classrooms missionary territory but so it is. The role and responsibility of the catechist to share the Good News with others requires the same gifts of the Holy Spirit that nudged the early disciples out of the upper room and into the world as they began their mission of evangelization. Join us as we consider how to put two of these gifts – knowledge and wisdom – to good use in our catechetical efforts and to shine hope into the lives of those we catechize.

Kathy Hendricks is the National Catechetical Consultant for William H. Sadlier and a contributing writer for their materials, including a weekly blog. Kathy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Adult Christian Community Development, and certification as a spiritual director. Kathy is the author of several books and has over 35 years experience in diocesan and parish catechetical and pastoral ministry.
