School of Hope – Barry Schoedel

January 12, 2018 @ 2:45 pm - 3:45 pm

School of Hope: How the Catholic School can Communicate the “Hope that Doesn’t Disappoint” to the World

The Catholic School is central to the pastoral activity of the Church. It has a distinct but integral mission to the ministry of Christ, that of living and proclaiming the Gospel in the midst of the World. In this presentation educators will be renewed in their vision of their vocation and the profound hope of the Gospel it is based upon. It is meant to transform the outlook of educators so that their vocation is evermore lived as one which forms in & communicates Christian hope.

Barry works as Associate Director for the Office of Evangelization & Catechesis in the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge. He has served in the ministry of Christ in various capacities since converting to the faith when he was 27 years old. He has a Master of Theological Studies degree from St. Meinrad School of Theology and the coursework for an MA in Philosophy from Gonzaga. He recently developed a course titled “Catholic Identity in the Catholic School” for the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
